Semana Santa (aka. Holy Week; The week of Easter; The Week of Food)
Fanesca, Click the link and I have directed you to the wikipedia page describing it. It´s pretty accurate minus the picture does it no justice at all. And there are a LOT more things added to the soup other then eggs and plantains, including tomatoes, onion, a whole quarter of an avacado, cheese, Fried bread balls, and I´m even probably forgetting some ingredients.
My house is a cooking zoo right now. My host mom and aunt have been working on the Fenesca since yesterday morning. There are about 15 different dishes out and about our kitchen filled with food. It´s like Thanksgiving but bigger. We´re scheduled to have it around 1ish today.
I hope everyone has a good easter. Tomorrow morning I leave for the Mindo Cloud forest which is a trip planned by GVI (like the horseback riding) for the night.
